While it is true that ninjas are speedier, stealthier and silenter than pirates, new scientific evidence may prove that the battle raging between the two professions since the dawn of time and possibly before that will ultimately be won by pirates. Why?
Nets.
In ninja battles, many ninjas use expandable nets to defeat each other. By expelling a net away from itself, a ninja can trap another ninja in a net and therefore render the ninja unable to battle any more. then a quick slice ends the battle once and for all. Ninjas are obviously weak against nets; pirates have nets all over their ships. It's what the rigging is made of; it's what they store things in; some ships even have nets decorating the sides. Until recently, scientific theory stated that this was because all pirates are netting fetishists; however, Dr. Tucker Q. Price has proved without a doubt that this netting is to ward off ninjas. Ninjas can see for miles and can spot pirates climbing around on netting as if it was a normal street that's flat and easy to walk on; they know instinctively that if they were to try to get the pirates, the pirates could simply go "YAARRGH!!!!" and trow the nets over the ninjas, instantly draining them of their powers.
Similarly, many pirate wenches wear fishnet stockings. We thought this was because they're hookers, but Dr. Price says this isn't the case.
"Exactly the opposite is true, actually. The stockings keep the ninjas away from their private bits; everyone knows ninjas are horny perverts and were it not for the stockings, these poor, chaste pirate wenches would surely be ninja-raped before they even knew the ninjas were around. In fact, they probably wouldn't even notice until they got pregnant; ninjas are really fast, but they're also asian and you know what they say about asian men."
Dr. Price laughed and continued on with various racist remarks.

After almost a year of nothing worth reading (and six months of nothing at all), the creative spark gave me another jolt and I'm ready to go!
